Roundtable on Digital Personal Data Protection
Bengaluru / 21 November 2023
BRIEF
On August 11th, 2023, India's inaugural comprehensive privacy regulation, known as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, was granted approval by President Droupadi Murmu and officially published in the government gazette.
Even though the exact date when this act will come into effect remains uncertain, and many specific details are still being clarified, organizations should commence assessing their potential vulnerabilities to proactively initiate the development of a compliance strategy.
The World Law Dialogue is organizing an exclusive roundtable event, by invitation only, extending invitations to selected individuals such as general counsels, chief compliance officers, chief risk officers, senior data privacy officers, and private lawyers. The aim is to facilitate a high-level and practical discussion addressing the key challenges that businesses will encounter under this new law and provide guidance on how to navigate these challenges.
